Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Systems Engineer in the Multi-Function Radar department.

Estimated Salary: Up to £62,000 dependent on experience

The role involves developing current and next generation radar products to counter emerging threats and gain an advantage in the strategic Future Air Dominance domain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create innovative solutions to evolving technological and operational challenges for complex Multi-Function Radar systems.
  • Using a wide range of expertise in systems engineering concepts and methods to provide technical solutions and address engineering problems.
  • Undertake system design analysis to manage trade-offs of system parameters to characterise and specify robust design.
  • Discern and decompose requirements to system and sub-system level and manage these in an approved toolset such as IBM DOORS Next.
  • Be a key technical contributor conducting system development and implementation activities, with internal & customer stakeholder engagement, and mentoring of junior engineering peers.
  • Working together with specialists in diverse engineering fields, such as software, mechanical, electrical, and electronics, to realise comprehensive system design solutions.
  • Planning and undertaking system integration and testing.
  • Contribute to definition and articulation of system acceptance strategies demonstrating system performance across a wide range of operational scenarios underpinned through production of customer acceptance evidence.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of at least one of the following subject areas; signal processing, target track extraction, object classification algorithms, system and sensor resource optimisation.
  • An appreciation of factors that can affect the real-world performance of sensing systems and how these can impact the accuracy and timeliness of measurements to meet challenging design objectives and requirements.
  • Demonstrates understanding and experience of Systems Engineering which could include knowledge of Systems Engineering standards (e.g., ISO 15288).
  • Higher education (or equivalent experience) in a relevant STEM discipline.
