Cardiology Outpatient Coordinator

About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Cardiology Outpatient Administrator to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our cardiology department, ensuring the smooth operation of our outpatient services.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient appointments and procedures, ensuring timely and efficient communication with patients, healthcare staff, and other stakeholders.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to prioritize clinical procedures and book appointments accordingly.
- Manage patient records, including updating and generating clinic lists, and ensuring accurate coding and billing.
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to patient inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Collaborate with medical records and staff to ensure all necessary information is available for clinic appointments.
- Coordinate requests for clinical procedures, imaging services, and other patient-related activities.
- Ensure compliance with national and local waiting-time standards, working closely with clinical staff to minimize breaches.
- Participate in the development and implementation of local policies and operating procedures.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication and organizational skills, who is able to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have experience with MS Windows, MS Office, and Excel, and be able to prioritize tasks effectively. IT qualifications, such as ECDL, are desirable, as is experience with medical terminology and database/spreadsheet skills.
