Cardiology Outpatient Coordinator

About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Cardiology Outpatient Administrator to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our cardiology department, ensuring the smooth operation of our outpatient services.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient appointments and procedures, ensuring timely and efficient communication with patients, healthcare staff, and other stakeholders.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to prioritize clinical procedures and book appointments accordingly.
- Manage patient records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is maintained.
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to patient inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless clinic preparation, including preparing patient notes and referral letters.
- Coordinate requests for clinical procedures, imaging services, and other outpatient appointments.
- Ensure compliance with national and local waiting-time standards, working closely with clinical staff to minimize breaches.
- Maintain accurate records of patient appointments, procedures, and outcomes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of local policies and procedures.
Person Specification
- Good basic educational background (6 GCSEs grade C or above or equivalent)
- Up-to-date experience of MS Windows, MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access (or equivalent)
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexible approach to team work and working hours
- Reliable and organized, with excellent communication skills
- Paying attention to detail, hard working, and able to work to deadlines
