Cardiology Outpatient Coordinator

About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Cardiology Outpatient Administrator to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our cardiology department, ensuring the smooth operation of our outpatient services.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient appointments, procedures, and referrals, ensuring timely and efficient communication with patients, healthcare staff, and other stakeholders.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to prioritize clinical procedures and book appointments accordingly.
- Manage patient records, including updating and generating clinic lists, and ensuring accurate coding and billing.
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to patient inquiries, and resolving any issues or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Collaborate with medical records and staff to ensure all necessary information is available for clinic appointments, including last letters and diagnostic results.
- Coordinate requests for patient transport and translators, ensuring compliance with Trust protocols.
- Participate in the development and implementation of local policies and operating procedures.
Person Specification
- Essential:
- Good basic educational background (6 GCSEs grade C or above or equivalent)
- Up-to-date experience of MS Windows, MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access (or equivalent)
- Ability to prioritize, work independently, and as part of a team
- Flexible approach to team work and working hours
- Reliable and organized, with attention to detail
- Desirable:
- IT qualifications (ECDL) or working towards
- Medical terminology
- NHS experience
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
