Job Title: Prevention & Restorative Justice (PRJ) Worker

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our Prevention & Restorative Justice (PRJ) Team at Powys County Council. As a member of this team, you will play a crucial role in assessing, managing, and delivering interventions aimed at preventing offending among children and young people.

About the Job:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the needs, risks, and protective factors of children and young people, working closely with families, schools, social services, and other agencies to ensure a holistic approach.
  • Create personalized intervention plans based on assessment outcomes to address specific needs and reduce offending behaviors.
  • Develop and implement interventions tailored to the unique needs and circumstances of each young person, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
  • Manage a caseload of children and young people, maintaining accurate records and ensuring seamless communication with stakeholders.
  • Represent the interests and needs of children and young people in multi-agency meetings, advocating for their rights and well-being.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Previous experience in youth justice or a related area working with at-risk youth.
  • A strong understanding of restorative justice principles, youth offending, and the criminal justice system.
  • Excellent assessment, case management, and intervention delivery skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to build trust with children, young people, and their families.
  • Empathy, patience, resilience, and a commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of young people.
