About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Domestic Assistant to join our Facilities Team at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a Domestic Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our service users and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for cleaning all areas in accordance with the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) national standards of cleanliness.
  • Collect and dispose of daily rubbish and recyclables.
  • Undertake the washing up of mealtime dishes for patients and staff.
  • Responsible for opening and closing buildings as required, with prior approval from management.
  • Inform Porters/Security of any security breaches or incidents.
  • Order cleaning materials as needed and maintain a clean and tidy workspace.
  • Report any faults or issues with equipment to the Domestic Supervisor.
  • Provide details of any untoward incidents to administrative/senior nursing staff.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a good understanding of cleaning services and is able to accept and prioritise instructions.
  • Has previous experience in domestic services and/or catering, or dealing with the public.
  • Is able to work as part of a team and be flexible within their working approach.

Please note that applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check, and costs will be deducted from salary following appointment. We encourage applicants to enrol for the DBS Update Service, which costs a small annual fee of £13 per year.
