Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Lab Engineer to join our team at Raytheon UK. As an Electronics Lab Engineer, you will be responsible for managing equipment and lab operations, performing functional testing and diagnostics of complex electronic assemblies, and assisting engineers with test setup and equipment calibration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage equipment and lab operations, including calibration, maintenance, and safety procedures.
  • Perform functional testing and diagnostics of complex electronic assemblies.
  • Assist engineers with test setup, including wiring, test equipment software download, and safety covers.
  • Assist with test development, including STE assembly, earth bond testing, and PoD/PoM testing.
  • Assist with risk assessment management, including review and sign-off.
  • Assist with COSHH management, including Sypol requests for new chemicals.
  • Manage contractors, including onsite calibration and annual PAT.
  • Assist with packing equipment and EXIM forms for shipping.

Requirements

  • Qualification in Electronics, e.g. HNC/HND or higher.
  • Approximately 2 years (or more) experience in an electrical role in engineering.
  • Demonstrable skills in electrical wiring, electronics, and soldering.
  • Diligence in capturing outcomes and preparing documentation.
  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and methods of testing systems in an electrical lab.
  • Familiarity with test software, e.g. LabView.
  • Demonstrable experience in cable selection, termination, and safety testing for standard low voltage (230v) apparatus.
