Anatomical Pathology Technologist Position

As a Post-Mortem Examination Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and experience in anatomical pathology, while contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Duties
  • Participate in adult post-mortem service (and paediatric depending on experience).
  • Receipt and release of deceased individuals.
  • The preparation of cadavers for post-mortem examination.
  • Assisting the pathologist during the examination.
  • Collection of tissue and body fluid samples.
  • Use of the Faxitron.
  • Removal of pacemakers.

All duties are to be performed with due regard for the dignity of the deceased and in accordance with local standard operating procedures.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • RIPH Diploma in APT OR BSc in a biological or forensic science and RSPH Level 3 Diploma in Anatomical Pathology.

In addition, you should have relevant experience as an Anatomical Pathology Technologist within mortuaries.
