Job Overview:
This role is responsible for producing computerized tomographic scanner radiographs in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gathers patient history, explains procedures, and addresses concerns to ensure patient comfort and confidence.
- Operates and maintains imaging equipment, including tomography scanners.
- Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly.
- Administers medications within the technologist's scope of practice as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
- Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety to minimize exposure.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a CT Technologist
- Arrangement for cross-training from another ARRT modality to become CT Certified within twelve months if not already certified
- Degree from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology
- Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
- Current BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a CT Technologist
