Job Summary:
We are seeking an exceptional and experienced nurse to join our Oncology and Haematology Helpline team at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will possess excellent organisation, communication, decision making and motivational skills and will be a positive role model to other members of staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality patient care in Oncology and Haematology, with a focus on systemic anti-cancer treatments.
- Rotate onto the inpatient unit and chemotherapy day case units, providing comprehensive care to patients.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Participate in educational opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in Oncology and Haematology.
- Contribute to the development of the service, providing input on best practices and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Significant experience in caring for patients with cancer.
- Competence in cannulation, venepuncture, care of central venous access devices, and administration of IV medications.
- Accreditation in the administration of cytotoxic medications.
