Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic nurse to join our Oncology and Haematology Helpline team at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will possess excellent organisation, communication, decision making and motivational skills and will be a positive role model to other members of staff.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing exceptional levels of patient care in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Delivering systemic anti-cancer treatments
  • Rotating onto the inpatient unit and chemotherapy day case units
  • Working within a friendly team of experienced and highly knowledgeable nurses

About the Role

The successful candidate will have significant experience in caring for patients with cancer, be competent in cannulation, venepuncture, care of central venous access devices and administration of IV medications, and must be accredited in the administration of cytotoxic medications.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • First level Nursing Registration on NMC register
  • Teaching/Mentoring Certificate / skills, or willingness to work towards certificate
  • Accreditation in the administration of cytotoxic medications
  • Significant experience as a band 5 registered nurse within a hospital setting
  • Significant experience within the field of oncology/haematology and anti-cancer treatment
