Support Worker for Children's Residential Care

Job Overview
Fortitude Residential Childcare Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker for Children's Residential Care to provide essential care and support to children and young people who are under the care of Local Authorities. The ideal candidate will have a nurturing approach and a genuine desire to assist those in need while supporting them with important decisions and transitions that will lead them into living a successful and rewarding adult life.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the health, wellbeing, and educational needs of the children in care.
- Develop, implement, and maintain care plans tailored to each young person's specific needs in line with The Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015 legislation.
- Build trusting relationships with the children and engage them in meaningful activities.
- Administer medication as required and support with independence tasks and meal preparation.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and support the Team Leader with relevant tasks.
- Contribute to the provision of overnight security checks of the home and maintain a clean and tidy living space.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or in childcare settings is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, their families, and external agencies involved in the overall safeguarding of each young person.
- A valid driving licence may be beneficial for certain roles.
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes.
- Knowledge in Safeguarding and being able to demonstrate this within your day-to-day role.
