HR Operations Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced HR Operations Specialist to join our team at CRA GROUP LIMITED. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional advice and guidance to managers, headteachers, and governors across the Council on a wide range of employment and related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and guidance on complex cases, including disciplinary grievances, sickness absence, and capability cases.
- Deliver options, progress, and solutions on a range of casework, including recruitment, performance investigations, and interpretation of terms and conditions of service.
- Work closely with managers, headteachers, and governors to resolve key business and people-led problems and issues.
- Support and guide service managers in dealing with investigations and disciplinary and other conduct matters.
- Conduct employee relations consultations and collective bargaining with employees and trade union/professional body representatives.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in an Employee Relations operational HR role within a large organisation with a diverse workforce.
- Indepth knowledge of relevant legislation and recognised best HR practice.
- Ability to effectively communicate on complex issues at all levels in an appropriate and concise manner both orally and in writing.
- Relevant degree/professional qualification or experience.
Working Arrangements:
The postholder will have no line management responsibility but will undertake a range of mentoring and management development tasks to improve the people management capability of service managers. The postholder will from time to time undertake project management roles which may have temporary funding allocations.
Additional Information:
Somerset Council supports Hybrid working. Requirement to work in County Hall Taunton minimum 2 days per week and to travel around Somerset. Access to personal vehicle desirable.
