Philosophy Education is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Part-time Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) to join their team in Peckham. As a key member of the leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating support for children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND).

About the Role

This part-time SENCO position is an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant and diverse inner-city primary school. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the school's SEND Policy, working closely with the senior leadership team to ensure all children receive a consistent and high-quality response to meeting their needs.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with parents, teachers, and external agencies. You will also possess a deep understanding of SEND legislation and policies, as well as experience in implementing Individual Learning Plans and supporting staff training.

Key responsibilities will include updating the school's SEND record, providing specialist support for teachers and support staff, and planning and leading SEND intervention groups. You will also be responsible for preparing Education, Health and Care Plans and organizing training for staff to ensure they are aware and confident about how to meet the needs of pupils within the school.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a non-class based position, although teaching intervention groups is expected.
