The successful candidate will have proven experience in delivering successful consenting strategies, producing robust and high-quality EIAs, and driving excellent collaboration with design teams to achieve project success.

We work to protect our natural environment and water resources while powering our world for future generations. Climate change, rapid urbanization, and loss of biodiversity are pressing issues that require our attention.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, lead, and support growth into key growth sectors across Environment and Sustainability, focusing on Nuclear and/or Defence.
  2. Set annual budgets and identify investments for the markets strategy.

  4. Develop and grow a pipeline of opportunities linked to the Market Strategy.
  5. Act as Pursuit Director for strategic opportunities.
  6. Act as Project Director to support the delivery of projects with multi-disciplinary potential for key client accounts and frameworks.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and oversee Key Client Management activities.
  8. Monitor and identify trends, developing them into commercially viable propositions.
  9. Develop and maintain excellent senior-level relationships with clients and contribute to Key Client Management plans and activities.
  10. Lead and coordinate activities to achieve strategic and commercial targets, collaborating to source people/skills from the most appropriate teams.
  11. Represent Arcadis at sector and key client events, supporting the drive to raise the profile of both individuals and Arcadis.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Excellent working knowledge of the UK Planning system and consenting process, with a solid understanding of environmental and sustainability principles and technical specialisms.
  2. Delivering projects across multiple consenting regimes, including Development Consent Orders, Transport and Works Act Orders, and Town and Country Planning Act.
  3. Experience across multiple sectors and all stages of the project life cycle, including strategic optioneering, single option development, EIA, requirements discharge post consent, and detailed design and construction.
  4. Leading multi-disciplinary teams and growing technical capability.
  5. Experience of leading project teams through planning inquiries or examinations, with expert witness experience desirable.
  6. Developing and taking to market value propositions.
  7. Working at a senior level with diverse internal and external stakeholders, with evidence of building effective client relationships.
  8. Demonstrating ability to drive innovation and a growth mindset culture within a business.
  9. Experience in multi-disciplinary coordination and leadership of projects, with good project management and technical skills.
  10. Commercial expertise, including forecasting, project management, and quality assurance.
  11. Relevant degree or equivalent qualification, with chartered status.
  12. A flexible, pragmatic, and collaborative approach to work.
