About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Engineering Project Management to join our team at Blatchford. As a key member of our R&D department, you will be responsible for leading our cross-functional engineering project teams and driving the execution of technical deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Deliver the R&D Product Development Roadmap: Create a comprehensive roadmap for product development, focusing on business goals and objectives.
  • Support Commercial and Clinical Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure commercial and clinical requirements are integrated into our innovation roadmap.
  • Facilitate Project Definition and Documentation: Develop and document project scope, objectives, and desired business outcomes.
  • Manage Stakeholder Expectations: Establish and manage stakeholder expectations, both internally and externally, through the use of EPM dashboards.
  • Collaborate with R&D Leadership: Work with the R&D leadership team to prepare project budgets, ensure scope is realistic and accurate, and establish control to ensure fiscal and commercial compliance.
  • Recruit, Develop, and Coach the Engineering Project Management Team: Lead a team of professional project managers, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  • Define and Report on Project Metrics and KPIs: Establish and report on measures and KPIs for all product development projects, ensuring business contributions are well-controlled.
  • Manage Project Risk: Identify and mitigate project risks, particularly at system integration points, and propose timeline and budget plans to executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with Senior R&D Functional Leaders: Work with senior R&D functional leaders to develop and execute corrective actions, addressing time pressures, skillset issues, or capacity opportunities.
  • Manage Project Resourcing: Control and track all project resourcing levels, including internal and external people resources, purchased materials, and device validation builds.
  • Monitor and Coordinate Technical Documentation: Oversee and guide the creation of technical documentation across the Stage Gate process, ensuring compliance with ISO 13485, FDA, and MDR requirements.

Requirements

  • BSc or Equivalent in Engineering
