Job Opportunity

Blatchford is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Director of Engineering Projects. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for leading a small team of project managers and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver technical projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of our 3-5 year innovation roadmap by providing commercial and clinical input.
  • Facilitate project definition and documentation, ensuring scope, objectives, and desired business outcomes are clearly defined.
  • Collaborate with R&D leadership to prepare project budgets, ensure scope is realistic and accurate, and establish controls to ensure fiscal and commercial compliance.
  • Recruit, develop, and coach a team of professional project managers, providing leadership and guidance to ensure team success.
  • Define and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for product development projects, ensuring business contributions are well-controlled.
  • Manage project risk, including supporting inputs at system integration points and defining realistic cross-functional mitigation plans.
  • Manage and control project resourcing levels, including internal and external personnel, purchased materials, and device validation builds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in medical device development, including leadership roles in all phases of product development.
  • Demonstrated experience in direct management and leadership.
