About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Protection and Welfare Specialist to join our team at Nala Global Ltd. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safeguarding and well-being of our students.

Responsibilities:
  • Support schools as their deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), providing comprehensive guidance on safeguarding best practices and collaborating with local authorities, social services, police, education welfare services, and other external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Work closely with schools to maintain a robust safeguarding culture, ensuring staff have excellent knowledge of policies and procedures, and that every school site has a strong emphasis on safety and security.
  • Maintain effective relationships with designated safeguarding leads and support the provision of medication and care, guaranteeing first aiders, consistent systems, and appropriately resourced medical rooms across all sites.
  • Monitor and maintain online safeguarding portals (MyConcern and Confide) and the Management Information System (MIS, Arbor), ensuring seamless integration and data management.
  • Deliver high-quality whole-school safeguarding training, staying up-to-date with evolving national and local guidance.
  • Collaborate with education and therapy leaders to optimize therapeutic education and integrate teaching about safety, maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with risk assessment procedures across schools and engage with families through regular communication and strategic planning.
  • Be available for meetings, including leadership and strategic sessions, as required, and work flexible hours to meet the needs of the organization.
