About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child Welfare Specialist to join our Family Support and Safeguarding Service. Our team is committed to providing exceptional care and support to children and young people in need, and we are looking for someone who shares our passion and values.

The successful candidate will work closely with families to identify and address their needs, providing practical and emotional support to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children. This will involve developing and implementing child protection and child in need plans, working collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure seamless delivery of services. You will also be responsible for managing complex cases, making timely decisions and taking appropriate action to ensure the safety and well-being of our children. Your commitment to relationship-based practice and your ability to build strong relationships with children, young people, and their caregivers will be key to your success in this role.

Requirements

We are looking for a qualified Social Worker with a degree in Social Work or a related field, and completion of the ASYE programme. You must hold registration with Social Work England and have relevant experience in child welfare and safeguarding. A comprehensive understanding of child development, family dynamics, and the impact of trauma on children is essential. You will also require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people. As a Child Welfare Specialist with our team, you can expect a competitive salary of £34,000 per annum, plus a £2.5k Recruitment and Retention Allowance.
