Job Title: Family Welfare and Support Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Family Welfare and Support Specialist to join our team at CRA GROUP RECRUITMENT AND PAYROLL LTD. As a key member of our Children Services department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to families and children in need.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor complex cases involving children, families, and carers, using systemic social work methods, models, and tools to implement positive change and support independence.
  • Lead and oversee professional judgments within legal and policy frameworks, undertaking comprehensive assessments and planning how needs will be met.
  • Establish collaborative working relationships with partner agencies, promoting effective inter-agency arrangements to protect children from harm and meet their care needs.
  • Carry out safeguarding enquiries, supporting others involved, and assisting in developing plans for children, families, and carers.
  • Act as lead professional in statutory cases, particularly child protection, care proceedings, and looked after children cases.

Requirements:

  • Up-to-date knowledge of complex social work theories and values, research, and evidence-based practice.
  • Thorough understanding of proposed and actual legislation, regulations, and government guidance relevant to children's services.
  • Pre- or post-qualifying experience in Children's Social Work, including direct work with children, assessment of need, and risk management.
  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience in managing complex and challenging cases.
  • Professional qualification in Social Work and registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (or successor body).

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
