Financial Support Officer

About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Support Officer to join our Estates Team at North Northamptonshire Council. As a key member of the team, you will provide finance support to the Senior Asset Manager and other team members, ensuring that operations and budgets are being managed effectively.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the performance of day-to-day budgeting for the corporate property portfolio through the Council's financial system, ERP Gold.
- Support the Senior Asset Manager and Senior Account Officer with analysis of financial information, providing advice where appropriate.
- Review and challenge contract summary information to enable the submission of work requisitions for project work.
- Provide advice to members of the Asset Management team to improve their financial awareness.
- Maintain allocated major supplier accounts, ensuring timely payment and reconciliation of statements.
- Support the team by producing monthly debt reports and helping to reduce debt.
About you
We are looking for a self-motivated and IT-literate individual with good numeracy and written skills. You will be a team player with common sense, able to deal with daily queries and process orders and invoices generated by the Estates Team.
