Job Overview

The South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our multi-disciplinary team within Eye Outpatients at The James Cook University Hospital.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will be based at The James Cook University Hospital Eye OPD and occasionally may be asked to work across sites at our Eye OPD at The Friarage Hospital, delivering safe, effective, high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care and support to patients accessing the service for elective and acute treatment.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver safe and effective care.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines related to patient care.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of care plans and policies.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe environment.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

  • Numeracy and Literacy Level 2
  • Care certificate
  • Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of patient and clinical care duties.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Ability to demonstrate the importance of holistic person-centered care and related procedures.
  • Experience of working in health or social care.

Personal Attributes

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
