Clinical Support Specialist

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Support Specialist to join our Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery team at The James Cook University Hospital.
Main Responsibilities- Provide a wide range of specialist treatments for patients requiring emergency and elective surgery.
- Undertake any responsibility which relates to oral and maxillofacial surgery, both elective and emergency.
- Cover for colleagues' annual leave and other authorised absences.
- Active involvement in audit and quality improvement initiatives.
- Continuing professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest clinical practices and technologies.
- Travel and attendance at peripheral units, including Friarage Hospital and North Tees General Hospital.
- BDS or equivalent primary dental qualification.
- Full registration with the UK General Dental Council.
- Three years full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) since first obtaining registration.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a resident SHO in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, including in-patient experience.
- Experience in dento-alveolar surgery and basic trauma management.
Our Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department is a large and very active team providing a complete range of services across Teesside, South Durham, and North Yorkshire. Person Specification- Essential criteria:
- BDS or equivalent primary dental qualification.
- Full registration with the UK General Dental Council.
- Desirable criteria:
- On GDC Specialist list for Oral Surgery.
