Job Description

H9 Technical Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Operations Manager to join our team at our client's EfW plant in Nottingham. As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for leading improvements in operational performance and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Site Leadership: Assist the Operations Manager in managing the site's safety system and ensuring compliance with safety rules.
  • Operational Excellence: Lead the development, delivery, and review of facility operations procedures to maximize plant availability and performance.
  • Team Management: Provide leadership, direction, and personal development to the operations team to build a high-performing team culture.
  • Contract Management: Assist the Operations Manager in managing contracts for external technical support and ensuring compliance with safety rules.
  • Incident Reporting: Investigate and report incidents, accidents, and near misses in a timely manner.
  • Operational Improvement: Analyze losses and incidents to reduce the likelihood of reoccurrence and develop ideas and solutions to improve operational performance.
  • Project Management: Identify, quote, tender, plan, and manage improvement projects to completion.
  • Strategic Planning: Prepare operational strategies to ensure alignment with the overall plan and requirements.
  • Contractor Management: Control contractors to ensure they operate in accordance with the safe system of work.
  • Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and audits to ensure activities are completed in a safe manner.
  • Supply Chain Management: Manage and develop good working relationships with input and output suppliers and contractors.
Requirements:
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in managing a team is essential.
  • Commitment: Ability to continually keep up-to-date with execution plans and mobilization of personnel and equipment.
  • Competency: Ability to demonstrate excellent health and safety behaviors and enforce safety expectations.
