FCC Environment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Operations Manager to join our team at Eastcroft EfW. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facility.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Operations Manager in the management of the site's safe system of work, ensuring compliance with all environmental, safety, and quality standards.
- Lead improvements in operational performance, analyzing losses and incidents to reduce the likelihood of reoccurrence.
- Develop and implement effective interfaces between the Operations department and other site functional teams.
- Supervise the operation of plant and equipment, ensuring maximum capacity and availability.
- Prepare and manage contracts for external technical support, ensuring compliance with safe systems of work.
- Conduct risk assessments and audits to ensure activities are completed in a safe manner.
- Manage the day-to-day intake of vehicles, ensuring compliance with planning, environmental permit, and duty of care requirements.
- Liaise with the FCC Sales team for additional C&I waste fuel inputs.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with input and output suppliers and contractors.
- Stand in for the Shift Lead Engineer role as required.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the waste management industry.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to build and maintain a high-performing team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions to improve operational performance.
- Strong knowledge of environmental, safety, and quality standards, with the ability to ensure compliance.
