About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Operations Manager to join our team at FCC Environment. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient management of our waste management facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management of the site's safety system, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Lead the development and implementation of operational procedures, ensuring maximum plant availability and flexibility.
  • Supervise the effective operation of plant and equipment, identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain effective interfaces between the operations department and other site functional teams.
  • Prepare and manage contracts for external technical support, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to ensure activities are completed in a safe manner.
  • Manage the day-to-day intake of vehicles, ensuring compliance with planning, environmental permit, and duty of care requirements.
  • Liaise with the FCC Sales team to ensure the efficient management of waste fuel inputs.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with input and output suppliers and contractors.
  • Stand in for the Shift Lead Engineer role as required.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the waste management industry.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
