Platform Engineer

GSK is seeking a skilled Engineer to support the respiratory department in providing technical expertise for production equipment manufacturing multi-dose powder inhalers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver improvements across Frontend platforms and associated Infrastructure on site, supporting documentation and validation reviews.
- Interact with Quality and Safety Practitioners and Regulatory bodies, preparing and presenting at Technical Quality Audits.
- Deliver a culture of improving Safety, Quality, Cost, and Customer Service, ensuring root causing and problem solving are carried out and corrective/preventative actions are implemented.
- Support and drive conformance to asset maintenance strategy and integrate Continuous Improvement techniques.
- Improve procedures relevant to the Frontend Engineering Department.
- Knowledge of and experience working within highly regulated (GMP) environments.
- A good standard of numeracy and literacy is essential, with a willingness to learn and communicate effectively.
- Process safety awareness, including risk management.
- Capable of managing small packages of Engineering work on complex manufacturing equipment.
- Understanding of basic OE and leadership principles.
The site produces medicines in Respiratory devices and Oral Solid Dose form, holding a unique position in the network as the only site responsible for launching the company's pipeline of new medicines in these dose forms.
Platform OverviewMicronising is the process of reducing the particle size of a powder by using compressed gas as the energy source.
Blending is the manufacturing process of combining active pharmaceutical ingredients with excipients.
Filling machines produce filled strips via cold forming, filling, and heat-sealing foil blister packs with doses of blends containing an active pharmaceutical ingredient.
