Site Reliability Leader

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Operations Manager to join our team at CHEP. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the maintenance of our site and ensuring that our equipment and facilities are maintained in a safe and efficient manner.


As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving personal development of the maintenance team, managing their day-to-day activities, and implementing continuous improvement of mechanical and electrical equipment and maintenance processes on site. You will also use data to drive plant improvements and provide engineering support for capital projects.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage maintenance issues and delegate resources to the right skills in the team or external resources as required.
  • Provide support to engineering project teams as required.
  • Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed maintenance activities.
  • Audit and ensure compliance of the engineering data systems.
  • Optimize equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and product quality, ensuring the achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Facilities management.
  • Develop clear accountability for maintenance material spend combined with a strategy to manage expenditure.
  • Support the process of the installation of new machinery and equipment and drawing up the specification.
  • Undertake continuous training and development of self and team.
  • Identify business improvement opportunities within the organization.
  • Provide technical expertise to the team.
  • Develop, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility.
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
  • Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements.
  • Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.


Qualifications:


  • City and Guilds, apprenticeship, HND, HNC or similar in an engineering-related discipline.
  • Completed a level 3 recognized apprenticeship programme with a mechanical and/or electrical discipline.
  • Ideally NEBOSH.
  • Electrical Duty holder certification.
  • 18th Edition / 2382-22.
  • Machine Safety (PILZ).
