Autism Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to provide support for adults with Learning Disabilities at Turning Point in Broadstairs. The role involves promoting independence and supporting daily activities, such as cleaning, cooking, and days out or holidays.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our service users. As an Autism Support Specialist, you will work in our 24-hour supported living facility, providing tailored support to enable individuals to be as independent as possible.
You will be part of a core team of staff who work closely together to develop life skills and personal interests of the residents. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and experience, working with a specific person based on shared preferences and personalities.
Duties and Responsibilities- Promoting independence and supporting daily activities such as cleaning, cooking, and days out or holidays
- Arranging activities in the home and local community, developing life skills and personal interests
- Helping residents stay safe and healthy, assisting with personal care needs and manual handling
- Supporting individuals with medication and ensuring record keeping is maintained to the required standard
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate, caring, and enthusiastic about working with people with Learning Disabilities
- Flexible, patient, and non-judgemental, with good communication skills
- A great team player with lots of energy, able to complete the physical aspects of the role where needed
The salary for this role is £25,000 - £28,000 per annum, with opportunities to boost your career and comprehensive benefits package. We offer 29 days' paid holiday a year, increasing with each year of service up to 31 days.
