Job Title: Disability Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Disability Specialist to join our team at NFP People. As a Disability Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing rehabilitation services to individuals with visual impairments.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position (37 hours per week) that requires regular travel across Wrexham. The successful candidate will have a Foundation Degree in Rehabilitation Studies (Visual Impairment) or equivalent, excellent planning and communication skills, and a recognized rehabilitation work qualification.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct specialist VI assessments with individuals to identify their needs and aspirations.
  • Agree a plan with the individual about how their needs can be met, through other services, equipment, and rehabilitation.
  • Provide statistical information to feed into quarterly contract monitoring reports.
  • Enable the Local Authority to maintain their Partially Sighted/Sight Impaired and Blind/Severely Sight Impaired Registers.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in performing rehabilitation assessments with visually impaired people and providing mobility, communication, and daily living skills training.
  • Ability to travel and work in all areas of Flintshire and Wrexham.
  • Relocation package available.
