About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Cost Manager to join our Glasgow team, looking to develop their career into a senior position. As a Senior Cost Manager, you will work on exciting projects, developing your skillset both operationally and technically.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and other parties involved in projects and programmes.
  • Administer various contracts in accordance with project objectives and policies.
  • Provide accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to completion in line with budget.
  • Proactively monitor and manage cost variance and contract cash flow, ensuring timely applications.
  • Collaborate with client and contractor teams to manage project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives.
  • Effectively manage contract change, ensuring projects remain within governance and adopt best practice.
  • Drive improvements in forecast accuracy and budgets.
  • Provide sound commercial knowledge and support to stakeholders.
  • Ensure final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
  • Lead people and commissions as needed.

Requirements

  • Previous experience or a sound understanding of contract management, cost management, change management, valuation, risk management, procurement, estimating, pricing, reporting, and collaborative approach.
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
  • Hold or be working towards an appropriate professional body membership or equivalent.
