About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Manager to join our team at Turner & Townsend. As a Senior Cost Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality cost management services to our clients, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commission Management
    • Coach and mentor junior staff to ensure effective cost management on all projects
    • Advise clients on feasibility studies and procurement options
    • Manage the estimating and cost planning stages, including presenting the final cost plan to the client
    • Tender and procure, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, and compiling the contractual documents
    • Conduct contract administration, including dealing with post-contract cost variances and change control processes
    • Take personal responsibility for peer reviewing cost allowances and carrying out valuations on larger projects
    • Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to the client
  • Marketing and Business Development
    • Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and report them to the line manager
    • Develop and maintain a professional network of peers and potential clients
    • Lead bid submissions and identify ways to improve cost management procedures, templates, and products
  • Internal Management
    • Knowledge management - ensure key information and learning generated from each commission is input into the Turner & Townsend internal database
    • Process improvement - identify ways to improve internal systems and processes and refer ideas to the line manager
    • Lead in the support, development, and mentorship of junior staff members
Requirements
  • Degree qualified and MRICS qualified (or working towards)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Inquisitive and problem-solving skill base
  • Demonstrable cost management experience working at a consultancy
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
