Security Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team at Securitas Security Services. As a Branch Support Security Officer, you will play a vital role in protecting employees, property, and assets at key client sites in Sheffield and York.
Key Responsibilities- Prevent unauthorized access, monitor alarms, and conduct security patrols to ensure the safety and security of our clients' premises.
- Provide exceptional customer service, manage keys, and handle locking/unlocking duties to maintain a secure and efficient environment.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, issue visitor passes, and manage lost property to ensure a smooth and secure experience for all stakeholders.
- Offer support and information to staff, visitors, and contractors, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
- Ensure walkways are clear, report hazards, and manage emergencies to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Investigate fire alarm activations, monitor First Aid equipment, and report potential risks of theft, damage, and vandalism to prevent incidents.
- Switch off unnecessary lights and close windows during patrols to conserve energy and maintain a secure environment.
- Operate security equipment, conduct 'stop and search' procedures, and investigate incidents and suspicious activities to maintain a secure and safe environment.
- Provide exceptional service, assist with staff and visitor issues, and maintain a professional presentation to ensure a positive experience for all stakeholders.
- Must hold a valid SIA Licence and have a full UK driving licence with own transport.
- Must be over 18, have the right to work in the UK, and a five-year checkable employment history or be able to produce documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self-employment, or full and part-time education during that period.
- No current criminal convictions, excellent communication skills, and a strong customer focus are essential for this role.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, be punctual and reliable, and willing and able to work shifts covering days, nights, and weekends.
- Sensitivity towards and understanding of the requirements of people with disabilities or special needs is also required.
- Prior experience as a Security Officer in the Security industry is desirable, and a First Aid qualification would be advantageous.
