We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team at Securitas Security Services. As a Branch Support Security Officer, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional security services at key client sites in Sheffield and York.
Key Responsibilities- Prevent unauthorized access and monitor alarms to ensure the highest levels of security.
- Conduct security patrols, provide traffic control, and manage keys to maintain a secure environment.
- Maintain logbooks, issue visitor passes, and manage lost property to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
- Offer support and information to staff, visitors, and contractors, providing exceptional customer service.
- Ensure walkways are clear, report hazards, and manage emergencies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Investigate fire alarm activations, monitor First Aid equipment, and report potential risks of theft, damage, and vandalism.
- Switch off unnecessary lights and close windows during patrols to conserve energy and maintain a secure environment.
- Operate security equipment, conduct 'stop and search' procedures, and investigate incidents and suspicious activities.
- Provide exceptional service, assist with staff and visitor issues, and maintain a professional presentation.
- A valid SIA Licence is required.
- A full UK driving licence and own transport are essential.
- Must be over 18 and have the right to work in the UK.
- A five-year checkable employment history or documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self-employment, or full and part-time education is required.
- No current criminal convictions.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus are essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Punctuality and reliability are crucial.
- Willingness to work shifts covering days, nights, and weekends, and be available as and when called upon to cover shifts.
- Sensitivity towards and understanding of the requirements of people with disabilities or special needs.
- Prior experience as a Security Officer in the Security industry is desirable.
- A First Aid qualification would be advantageous.
