Learning Support Assistant

Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team in a SEND school based in Havering. We cater for children and young adults from 5 to 18 years old with varied needs, such as PMLD, Severe Learning Difficulties, and Complex Needs.

Your role as a Learning Support Assistant will be to support the pupils on a 1:1 basis with their learning development and care needs while at school. Experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred but not essential. Experience working within a school-based or care-based environment is critical, as you must have basic knowledge and understanding of supporting children with learning care needs such as personal care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support young adults or children in education
  • Assist with personal care
  • Develop excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively
  • Hold a valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new DBS
  • Be available 5 days a week and commit to at least 1-6 months
