Academic Mentorship Role

As an Academic Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Mental Health Challenges at a secondary school in Lancaster. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to provide targeted interventions and support.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH and SEN challenges
- Collaborate with class teachers to deliver tailored lesson plans and interventions
- Monitor and track student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address these
- Deliver enrichment activities and extension tasks to promote student engagement and motivation
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Education or a related field
- Prior experience working with students with SEMH and SEN challenges
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
What We Offer:
- A competitive salary range of £28,000 - £35,000 per annum
- Statutory holiday pay (7%)
