About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our dynamic Home Treatment Team in Mendip. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring urgent community assessments of clients presenting in an acute mental health crisis.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct robust assessments of clients in crisis and develop effective care plans in conjunction with clients and their families.
  • Provide brief interventions to clients on the team caseload and work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure seamless care.
  • Work within our First Response Service in Somerset, providing telephone support and triage to individuals presenting in mental health crisis.
  • Participate in a 24-hour shift rota, working across a 7-day week service, and be flexible in your approach to meet the needs of the team and service users.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the team and across the community mental health service to ensure high-quality care and support.
Person Specification
  • RMN qualification and current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Significant post-registration experience in multi-disciplinary community mental health services.
  • Experience of managing risk of clients in crisis and conducting assessments, care-planning, and evaluation in conjunction with clients and carers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, carers, and relatives about complex and sensitive issues.
  • Ability to work under pressure, on own initiative, and as part of a team, with a commitment to high standards of service for adults with mental health difficulties.
