Broadreach Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Production Manager - Composites to join our award-winning boatbuilding company in Cornwall. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the production process, ensuring efficient operations, and exceeding expectations.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead a team of skilled professionals, recognising and balancing their skills to optimise performance.
- Identify and rectify any shortfalls in production requirements, ensuring regular planning and reporting.
- Adhere to tracking hours, schedule milestones, and financial budgets, ensuring tasks are performed efficiently.
- Ensure the M1 system accurately reflects team performance against budget and is properly maintained.
- Recruit and manage a well-resourced team, prioritising production schedules and ensuring the facility is regularly maintained.
- Adhere to company processes and policies, ensuring the team does the same.
Requirements
- Proven managerial experience, including strong team-building, decision-making, and people management skills.
- Computer literate, with the ability to effectively allocate resources and utilise assets to achieve optimal results.
- Responsible for production output, product quality, and delivering products on time.
- Report to the Production Director regarding pre-production assembly parts schedule, budgets, and quality.
- Maintain and improve quality standards, highlighting resource requirements and assisting with recruitment.
- Maintain a presence on the shop floor to monitor shift activity and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
- Line Manager to Team Leaders and workshop employees.
- Responsible for adhering to manufacturing and facility budgets and targets.
- Creative thinking to generate new ideas for improving systems and processes within pre-production.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
What We Offer
- 6 weeks holiday (including bank holidays) which rises after 3, 5 and 10 years service (up to a maximum of 1 extra week after 10 yrs service).

- Pension is 5% employee and 3% employer contribution.
- Company events twice a year.
