Fleet Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Management Specialist to join our team at supplychainonline.co - Jobboard. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of user-friendly fleet policies and procedures, ensuring the organisation remains legally compliant with all relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor monthly spend and budget reports associated with vehicle leasing, vehicle service and maintenance, fuel cards, hire vehicles, driver training and licence and compliance checking.
- Maintain accurate data associated with vehicle replacements and predicted future new orders, working closely with key stakeholders within Operations and HR.
- Work alongside the nominated fleet leasing/management provider, ensuring service and quality standards are regularly assessed.
- Administer the allocated vehicle application and approval process, working closely with the line manager, HR, and Payroll.
- Monitor colleague and volunteer driver compliance, ensuring those driving on behalf of the organisation are complying with policies, checks and guidance.
- Oversee the procurement and selection of competent and cost-effective suppliers associated with vehicle caging, driver training and fuel cards.
- Monitor and oversee appropriate driver training solutions that ensures the organisation is effectively managing its occupational road risk.
GCSE's in English and Maths, at grade C or equivalent qualification (QCF Level 2 / SQCF Level 5).
Desirable QualificationsFleet management qualification.
Job-Related Experience- A background in fleet management, with experience in managing a 400+ vehicle fleet.
- Experience in managing an external fleet support/management leasing provider, with a strong focus on SLAs and performance.
- Involvement in the management of fleet budgets and spend of GBP2m+
- Supporting the management of suppliers providing services such as vehicle conversions, signage, telematics, and occupation road risk services.
- Ability to research and interpret the legal framework associated with the management of a vehicle fleet (driver safety, HMRC etc.)
- Experience in working with stakeholders to identify requirements for procuring business need equipment.
- Strong report and presentation writing/drafting skills.
- Good PC Knowledge - MS office packages.
- Ability to use Excel formulas.
- Ability to work with specialists within a fleet industry.
- In-depth understanding of fleet management procedures and departmental policies.
- Ability to work alone and as part of a wider management team.
