Electrical Design Specialist

GTS International seeks a skilled Electrical Design Specialist to contribute to cutting-edge projects and expand their technical skills in a dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for tasks including harness design, schematic and system design, Bill of Materials creation, as well as harness assembly and testing.

Main Responsibilities- Design and Assembly: Design, build, maintain, service, and test production assemblies, ensuring compliance with safety and assembly instructions.
- Prototype Builds: Conduct prototype and pre-production builds to refine assembly processes and resolve pre-production issues.
- Custom Part Fabrication: Manufacture custom prototype parts using fabrication and machining skills.
- Workload Management: Collaborate with the departmental manager to manage workload and meet project timelines, cost, and quality requirements.
- Issue Tracking: Utilize the established engineering concerns process to capture and track issues, ensuring effective solutions are implemented promptly.
- Safety and Compliance: Comply with health and safety policies, ensuring safe working practices at all times.
- Build Records: Create and maintain accurate build records throughout the build process.
- Support and Development: Support test and demonstration events for new products and engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to stay up-to-date with industry standards and practices.
- Problem-Solving: Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to address a variety of challenging technical issues.
- Technical Guidance: Ability to provide immediate guidance to team members and technical advice to junior colleagues when necessary.
- Accountability: Accountability for materials, equipment, and processes, with an understanding of the potential impact of work performance.
- Initiative and Planning: Capability to plan and manage work independently, using initiative to meet set objectives.
- Judgment and Discretion: Discretion and judgment in applying a variety of technical methods and techniques.
- Team Collaboration: Frequent interaction with the team and occasional collaboration across other departments.
- Pressure Handling: Ability to handle moderate pressure to meet external targets with professionalism.
- Specialized Knowledge: Specialized technical knowledge acquired through advanced training, such as BTEC National Certificate, ONC level, A-Levels, or Scottish Highers in a relevant discipline.
- Certification: City & Guilds Level 3 (NVQ-3) or equivalent.
- Industry Experience: Proven experience as an Engineering or Build Technician, ideally within an OEM, Tier 1 supplier, engineering consultancy, or motorsport environment.
We offer a competitive salary of £38,000 per annum, plus benefits.
