North East Dementia Care Role

We are looking for an experienced Dementia Care Worker to provide support to individuals with dementia-type illnesses in the North East.

This part-time role involves working with families and nursing home staff, offering practical advice and hands-on support. The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting people with dementia, sound understanding of dementia, and knowledge of interventions used with challenging behaviors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support qualified staff in initial client contacts and assessments of individual needs.
  • Develop treatment plans and strategies for managing challenging behaviors.
  • Liaise with families and carers, offering advice and support.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid driving license and access to personal vehicle.
  • Previous experience with dementia-type illnesses.
  • Sound understanding of dementia.
  • Awareness of safeguarding principles.
