We are seeking an experienced Operational Director for Community Services to join our team on an interim basis. This role will involve covering community-based services, including mobilizing and demobilizing contracts, as well as supporting accommodation-based services due to the ever-changing environment.

About the Role
  • To contribute to the development of Hestia's strategic objectives and organizational annual planning processes.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve service delivery in line with achieving required outcomes by developing a SMART annual, integrated business plan for your area.
  • Ensure services use Hestia's policies, procedures, and processes to achieve objectives and contribute to the continuous improvement of these.
  • Work with the New Business and Development Team to identify new business opportunities, inform Hestia's tender submissions, and bring new services into management through careful implementation planning and processes in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and ensure that services meet their contractual and legal obligations through an effective programme of scheme audits, and that satisfactory health and safety systems are in place.
  • Collaborate with internal colleagues regarding external messaging to influence and provide solutions at Local and Central level.

The ideal candidate will have experience of successfully managing conflicting demands, delivering high-quality services fully compliant with regulatory requirements, and managing significant budgets. They will also possess significant experience of leading operational teams, monitoring and improving operational performance, and winning and implementing new business.

Key Requirements
  • Experience of business and financial planning, including budget management.
  • Track record of successful experience of complex contract and commissioner negotiations.
  • Flexible, agile thinking management style, able to adapt between user-led and directive approaches.
  • Able to horizon scan, analyze, and interpret data, trends, and risks to position the organization for success.

We offer a competitive salary of £45,000-£60,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a range of benefits including professional development opportunities and a supportive work environment.
