Elective Care Improvement Specialist

We are seeking an exceptional Elective Care Improvement Specialist to join our team at NHS England. As a key member of our Elective Care IST, you will play a crucial role in supporting the recovery of elective services across the country.

This is a demanding and varied role that requires you to be a recognised expert in cancer and/or RTT and/or diagnostics, with significant recent senior NHS management experience of operationally delivering elective care waiting time standards. You should also have experience of designing and delivering change in operational services at a senior management or professional level.

The successful candidate will provide expert guidance and direct support to health systems, ensuring tangible improvements in elective care that deliver benefits for patients. This includes extensive travel across England, regular nights away from home, and working alongside other Improvement Managers/Senior Improvement Managers and regional team colleagues.

About the Role

  • Design and deliver improvement plans to reduce waiting times for patients
  • Provide expert guidance and direct support to health systems
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve shared goals
