About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Elective Orthopaedic Practitioner to join our team at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have extensive post-registration experience in elective orthopaedic theatre management.

The role will involve leading a team of Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) and ensuring the day-to-day operation of the theatres reflects the highest standard of governance, clinical effectiveness, and standards of care.

You will be responsible for the logistical and procedural processes within the team, ensuring policy and governance is strictly adhered to while maintaining the smooth operation of the team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in theatre management, with excellent organisational skills, teaching and facilitation skills, and IT skills using PowerPoint, Word, and Excel packages.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of ODPs in the elective orthopaedic theatres
  • Ensuring the day-to-day operation of the theatres reflects the highest standard of governance, clinical effectiveness, and standards of care
  • Managing the logistical and procedural processes within the team
  • Ensuring policy and governance is strictly adhered to
  • Maintaining the smooth operation of the team

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with Theatre Course
  • Registered ODP
  • Level 6 or above academic qualification
  • Extensive experience as Band 6 Scrub Team Leader
  • Extensive knowledge of elective Orthopaedic Scrub procedures
  • Management of instrument and implant loan
