Adult Hearing Specialist

Job Title: Regional Audiologist
Location: Edinburgh - occasional travel within Scotland
Salary: Up to £45,000 + commission
Job Summary: As an audiologist for OutsideClinic, you will deliver audiological testing services to patients in their homes, as well as in-store and in support of the NHS. You will work autonomously, trusted to make decisions and valued for your expertise. Our central teams will provide full support.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Manage daily schedules for adults with hearing loss
- Pure Tone Audiometry, including masking when necessary
- Tests for non-organic hearing loss
- Testing for Noise Induced Hearing Loss
- Taking aural impressions and selecting ear moulds
- Programming and fitting hearing instruments
- Providing patient-centric aftercare
- Supporting individuals with hearing loss
- Using outcome measures to ensure hearing instruments provide maximum benefit
- Validating and verifying hearing instrument fittings
- Committing to lifelong learning
- Maintaining test equipment and scheduling calibration
- Providing ear care and wax removal
- Following best practice principles for infection control
Professional Responsibilities:
- Registering with the HCPC as a Hearing Aid Dispenser
- Reflecting on own practice with peers and management
- Being responsible for own professional actions and recognizing boundaries
- Contributing to a clinical team and discussing client needs
- Attending supervision and training to maintain skills and knowledge
- Keeping CPD records for HCPC compliance
- Understanding clinical governance and its application in Audiology
- Maintaining staff awareness of Infection Control and Health and Safety policies
Your Skills & Experience:
- Effective communication with multiple parties
- Using digital systems and attention to detail
- Confident driving with at least two years experience
- Working calmly under pressure
- Solving problems pragmatically
- Being organized and able to multitask
