Nuclear Safety Engineer

At Thomas Thor, we're pushing the boundaries of nuclear energy innovation, and we're looking for a talented Faults Studies Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bristol. As a global leader in designing safe and secure sources of clean energy, we're committed to advancing our SMR programme with the support of the FNEF.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth electrical engineering assessments of power plant systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with our US SMR Deterministic Safety Analysis (DSA) team to drive project success.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders, including nuclear regulators, to communicate complex technical information effectively.
- Collaborate with our project-driven engineering team to defend reactor design positions and drive innovation.
Requirements:
- Proven expertise in fault studies principles, with a strong understanding of light water moderated reactors and systems.
- Familiarity with thermal hydraulic behaviour of nuclear reactors under steady state and transient conditions.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills to enhance team and individual technical skills.
