Job Summary:

Thomas Thor Associates is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Safety Engineer to join our team in Bristol. As a Human Factors Specialist, you will play a crucial role in authoring human factors assessments for the SMR-300 small modular reactor design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver human factors assessments, documents, and plans to support the SMR-300 GDA.
  • Assist in developing the human factors chapter of the safety case for the SMR-300+ GDA.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to the team, enhancing technical and personal skills for effective delivery.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders, including nuclear regulators.
  • Actively engage in a project-driven and highly integrated engineering team.

Requirements:

  • Human factors requirements derivation and knowledge of relevant standards and design guidance.
  • Experience in human factors task and error analysis.
  • Familiarity with HRA and human-based safety claims assessments.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, able to address various organisational levels and external regulatory stakeholders.
