About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Data Platform Engineer to join our Data Delivery team at Aldermore Bank PLC. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining our cloud-based data platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of our cloud data platform, ensuring that our solutions are robust, scalable, and secure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and ensure that our platform aligns with our company's goals and vision.
  • Design and provision effective self-service capabilities that benefit all data engineering teams.
  • Continuously seek to understand and improve cloud data platform capabilities, innovating to improve delivery and business value.
  • Lead the conversation with functional squads on best practices and reusability.
Requirements
  • Experience configuring and deploying enterprise-grade AWS infrastructure.
  • Experience managing Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-first data platform architecture patterns/anti-patterns and associated network fabric options.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and principles, including CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
  • Strong scripting skills with languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, and understanding of security best practices and compliance in cloud environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate between technical and non-technical language.
  • Familiarity with data governance and data quality management practices.
