About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at Bloor Homes. As a key member of our site development team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Appraisal and Design
    • Assist in the production of site appraisals to inform design decisions.
    • Develop road and sewer designs in collaboration with approving bodies to resolve engineering issues.
  • Design Coordination
    • Prepare and coordinate detailed Section 38 and Section designs.
    • Prepare and coordinate external levels drawings.
    • Prepare and coordinate private drainage drawings.
  • Project Management
    • Brief and manage the Foundation Design Consultant.
    • Assemble and deliver the civil engineering package.
    • Obtain Section 38 and Section approvals.
    • Obtain foundation design approvals.
    • Complete Section 38 and Section agreements.
  • Health and Safety
    • Discharge engineering-related and building-related issues.
    • Assist in the discharge of engineering-related planning conditions.
    • Arrange for Section 38 and Section maintenance inspections and bond releases.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Attend meetings as necessary to perform duties.
    • Comply with and uphold company policies and procedures.
    • Undertake additional tasks as required.
    • Maintain all health and safety aspects associated with Covid-19.
    Essential Skills and Attributes
    • Experience working for a house builder or consultancy.
    • Production of engineering designs.
    • HNC in Civil Engineering Studies or similar.
    • Extensive knowledge of Section 38 and agreements.
    • Knowledge and application of:
      • Highway Design Standards.
      • Sewers for adoption.
      • Building Regs Part H & BS.
      • PDS design software.
      • Microdrainage design software.
      • AutoCAD.
    • Ability to work in a multi-functional team.
