Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor - Commercial Leader
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at JSS Search. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor - Commercial Leader, you will play a key role in providing commercial support to our clients, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Support: Provide comprehensive commercial support to clients, including maintaining commercial information and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Quantity Surveying: Undertake pre and post contract quantity surveying and commercial duties, supporting the Divisional Commercial Lead and providing commercial situational leadership and guidance to quantity surveyors and operations teams.
- Contract Negotiations: Lead contract negotiations in accordance with the Company's contracting rules and ensure timely execution prior to commencement, seeking guidance from the Divisional Commercial Lead as needed.
- Cash Flow Management: Maximise cash flow and manage post-contract Quantity Surveying functions, ensuring all contract entitlements are secured with timely notices, valuations, and billings - liaising with and managing own staff, colleagues, and customers accordingly.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: A relevant degree or professional qualification (RICS or CICES or similar) would be advantageous, along with relevant experience.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Commercial Leadership: Proven ability as a commercial situational leader.
- Contract Management: Experienced practitioner/user of sector standard forms of contract including but not limited to NEC; NR; JCT. (NEC3 is essential)
- Team Management: Experience of managing and working with others including admin and others that together cover all pre and post contract commercial requirements, ideally in a similar organisation or market sector.
- Communication: Proactive in working with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders, with strong written communication skills to present information, ideas, concepts, and positions clearly and confidently.
- Technical Skills: Highly proficient at using Microsoft office applications including but not limited excel; word; PowerPoint; teams; explorer; as well as web-based applications and ERPs.
- Leadership: Ability to work with and lead the commercial team to commercialise all aspects of the business.
- Problem-Solving: Possesses a rational, analytical, and objective approach to challenges, knowing when to direct, coach, support, or delegate.
Other Requirements:
- Eligibility: Eligible to work and live in the UK.
- Driving Licence: A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK.
- Travel: Flexibility to travel in the UK.
